brewmasters 300x214 Boycott All Beers and Beer Companies Advertising on the Discovery Channel!Macro Brews Threaten to Pull Ads Forcing Discovery Channel to Cancel Brew Masters?

By Matt Goldstein

The Discovery Channel has confirmed the cancellation of Brew Masters, a show dedicated to craft beer starring Dogfish Head’s Sam Calagione.  Rumors have been swirling about the details surrounding the cancellation.  Anthony Bourdain, star of the hit foodie show, No Reservations, has accused the big beer companies of threatening to pull their ads from the Discovery Channel if Brew Masters wasn’t cancelled.  Nuts!  We at the Whiskey Goldmine would like to call for a boycott of all beer companies that advertise on the Discovery Channel.  We’re pretty sure that this beer boycott is going to take off like Bill O’Reilly’s boycott of France which the Paris Business Review claims cost France billions.

Now, Sam Calagione publicly stated that he would like to focus on the “focus on the goodness inside the bottle instead of the weirdness outside the bottle.”  To that we say off to the bar to drink some Pliny the Younger at 10 am.  That’s how we roll!

The macros are losing market share and interest in their brands to some of these micro/craft beers and it is good to see. I boycotted Miller Lite a long time ago

Haven’t we all boycotted most of the macro-brews by the fact that they suck anyhow? But if you’re InBev or Coors or whatever, you have a captive audience that is obviously interested in Beer. Why don’t you advertise Bud Select or Blue Moon? LOL.
