The In and Out Martini

bigstock Martini Middle 252393 300x225 The In and Out MartiniLet the Vodka make the Statement!

By Matt Goldstein

The In and Out Martini is simple.  Take a martini glass, pour a very small amount of vermouth into the glass, just enough to swirl around the glass and wet the sides.  Wet the sides, and then pour it out.  In and Out!  Take a martini pick with 3 olives, shake off the olive juice over the jar and lay the olives in the glass.  Fill your shaker completely with ice; add 3 parts vodka and shake hard for 30 seconds.  Pour the vodka over the olives and you’re done.  Sip and enjoy.

This is exactly how I like my Martini’s! BRAVO! You want
to be able to taste the vodka, so you want the Vermouth to merely
enhance the vodka not overpower it. Again BRAVO. I need to get my
Martini on more these days. Having kids will do that to a brother.

Yeah man, it’s not about vermout or olive juice, it’s about the vodka. My dad doesn’t even mess with the vermouth. He goes straight vodka.

If you sub out the vodka for gin and replace shaking with stirring, I’m right there with you. If I’m doing a martini night, I soak the olives in vermouth in the fridge and don’t crack open the Martini & Rossi for the rest of the night.
