Normally at the Whiskey Goldmine we try not to come off overly critical because we don’t want to be complete dicks, but that stops here. KRU 82 Vodka from Holland is simply one of the worst vodkas we have ever had, and . . . → Read More: KRU 82 Vodka: We Finally Met a Vodka We Didn’t Like

Used Kru 82 for the first time last night. Had it on the rocks
With lemon twist and a splash of water. It was excellent.
And I’ve been drinking vodka for more than 40 years.

Matt: Using that type of language leads me to believe you lost your taste buds years ago, including a few brain cells.

Actually here in Houston we just came across this vodka and we bought several bottles for a party because of the cool canister and everybody loved it, even compared it to Grey Goose. Its really smooth if I have to say so myself

Even compared to Grey Goose? F’n please. This must be a joke.

Maybe its just me. I like the bite. Or maybe because its 82 proof.
Whatever, all grain vodka sort of sucks anyway as real vodka supposed to be made from potato.
Most adult beverage is an acquired taste anyway(Jack Daniels for example, nasty burnt taste but wildly popular…Go Figure)
But really its the gimmick factor of 750 ml Stainless bottle that caught my attention and its $9.99 pricetag.

Ben,
My favorite part of most vodka’s is the bite. Smooth isn’t always what I’m looking for. But this vodka is flat out garbage. It’s like drinking lighter fluid.
I disagree that real vodka is supposed to be made from potato. 98% of all vodka is actually made from grain. The potato thing is a myth.
Jack Daniel’s is popular because it’s cheap. $20 for a bottle to do shots with or mix with a coke. It’s also an American icon and lives off its own legend.

I always have an eye out for rather different looking containers. I spotted KRU 82 and thought…cute…and grabbed the smallest container from the shelf. This past week after a particularly grueling day at work I had one thought on my mind as I drove home….martini! Shake, shake, shake…pour…prepare to enjoy…sip….EEEWWWW! When I was many years younger we had a name for horrible things like this…rock-gut…and this is how I now refer to Kru 82…rock-gut. Wish I had found your site sooner.

Agree Rev Rae. KRU is straight swill!

This stuff is worse than rubbing alcohol, but it does provide a full body drunk when mixed with diet coke.

It’s so bad Scott, but any liquor in the world can be a mixer and get you drunk. This is not compliment.

Dear Tony the Wussy,
Please. This vodka is garbage. Worst vodka I ever had.
I drink everything straight and neat. Everything!

I’d have to go back to my broke days in college, drinking Popov in a cemetery to get close to my recent KRU 82 experience. Actually, I think even that beat KRU 82, and at less than half the price. I decided to check out the reviews online thinking that perhaps I was imagining how bad KRU 82 was and that my taste buds had turned on me but there seems to be a common sentiment that KRU 82 is horrid. I can drink almost anything but I’m at a loss for what do do with the rest of the bottle of KRU 82. This is undrinkable, even in a mix. It joins the rank (pun intended) of some counterfeit Chinese Moutai “number one” I got a few years ago. How is it even possible to make swill this bad?

Alan, that is the same thing I said. How is it possible to make something this bad? It doesn’t even make sense.

I was in the local store purchasing a bottle of Evans Williams Honey Reserve, when I saw the KRU large and small bottle set of vodka from Holland. Immediately the clerk asked if I had tried it and before I could answer they said it is soooo smooth. I of course asked how it compared to Ciroc (my current all time favorite), and she answered that it is just as good. I do have to say what caught me first were the aluminum bottles, as I immediately thought of how I could use them. Note to self.
, if the marketing is outrageous then the product is probably not worth the money. Not only after the first swig is it harsh, but it literally tasted like rubbing alcohol- what can I say other than I have never tasted rubbing alcohol, but the taste, was like the smell. This was awful, and not worth the $22 I spent for it. Don’t waste your money. Very unsatisfied and disappointed. I did however get 2 real cool aluminium bottles, but they are not worth $22 dollars, that’s for sure.

Sounds about right Michael. This vodka is just flat out horrible.

Yeah has to take the keychain/d ring off. It made my life a living hell trying to close it sober. I ended up just leaving the cap off till I was completely finnished. Took nè a few months to finish it off cause it was extremely harsh coming from ciroc.

Nice review. It does have a bite and the bottle is a pain in the ass when opening and closing it. But damn, it looks cool!

It may look cool, but it’s one of the worst vodkas I ever had period. I will try it again though, could have been a bad bottle.
