Kilbeggan Dubliner

Ingredients:

•    3 parts Kilbeggan® Irish whiskey

•    2 parts Sweet Vermouth

•    1.5 parts Cherry Syrup

•    1.5 parts Cranberry Juice

•    Dash Simple Syrup (optional)

To Serve: Combine all ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake for 60 seconds. Strain neat into a martini glass. Garnish with a black cherry or raspberry.

Ingredients:

•    3 parts Kilbeggan® Irish whiskey

•    2 parts Triple Sec

•    2 parts Simple Syrup

•    Lime Juice

•    Ginger Ale

To Serve: Combine Kilbeggan, Triple Sec, simple syrup and lime juice into a shaker with ice and shake for 60 seconds. Strain over ice into a tall glass. Top with ginger ale and garnish with lime wedges.

 

Kilbeggan Shamrock Spritzer

Ingredients:

•    1 part Kilbeggan® Irish Whiskey

•    4 parts Apple Juice

•    Lemon-Lime Soda

To Serve: Pour Kilbeggan and apple juice over ice into a tall glass. Top with lemon-lime soda and garnish with a lemon.

The cocktail, Draper’s Manhattan, is a twist on the classic Manhattan and inspired by Mad Men’s own Don Draper.  The show’s creator, Matthew Weiner, even told us that Basil Hayden’s is his favorite bourbon and he enjoys the spicy finish after a long day in the writers in the writers’ room! It’s a great cocktail to mix up in the office or while you watch the premiere if you’re looking to channel the Mad Men era.

Basil Hayden’s Draper’s Manhattan

Ingredients:

2 parts Basil Hayden’s Bourbon

3/4 parts Dolin Blanc Vermouth de Chambery

1 bar spoon Luxardo® Maraschino Cherries

1 dash Orange Bitters

 

Preparation:

1. Add all ingredients to a mixing glass with ice and stir until combined.

2. Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice.

3. Garnish with an orange twist.

Old Fashioned

1 sugar cube

2 or 3 dashes of aromatic bitters, such as Angostura

2 1⁄2 ounces Four Roses Bourbon (limited edition small batch)

Soda water

Orange slice, for garnish

Maraschino cherry, for garnish

Lemon zest twist, for garnish

Instructions: Put the sugar in an old-fashioned glass and moisten with the bitters. Crush them together with a muddler. Add the whiskey and fill the glass with ice. Stir well. If desired, fill the glass with soda water. Add the orange and cherry, and lemon twist, if using. Serve.

Maybe the winter was too short, maybe we didn’t get enough snow for your weird twisted taste, but Spring has arrived and Canadian Club Whiskey has created some great cocktails to kick back and have that drink on the porch with your feet up.  Soak in the breeze, relax and enjoy Canadian Club Whiskey as a mixer in one of these great whiskey cocktails.

 

Mango Smash

1.50 parts Canadian Club

3 – 1”chunks of fresh mango

1 half moon slice of orange

2 sugar cubes

2-3 dashes of Orange Bitters

Soda water

Maraschino cherry for garnish

Directions:  In an Old Fashion or double rocks glass, muddle the sugar cube with the bitters, add fruit and muddle again, insuring the release of oils from the orange peel. Fill glass with small, cubed ice, add whisky and stir. Add splash of soda water, stir once more, drop in a cherry for garnish.

 

Honey Do This

1.50 parts Canadian Club

.50 parts DeKuyper Triple Sec

.50 parts Simple Syrup

3 – 1” chunks of Honeydew melon

3 ½” pieces Cucumber

4-6 Mint leaves

Directions:   In a mixing glass, muddle melon, cucumber, mint, and simple syrup.  Add remaining ingredients and shake with ice and pour all into a double old fashion glass. Add cucumber slice & mint sprig for garnish. Serve with “malt” straw (a large diameter straw.)

 

The Thunderbird

1.50 parts Canadian Club

.75 parts Amaretto

2 parts Pineapple Juice

1 part Orange Juice

2 dashes of Grenadine

Orange wedge and Maraschino cherry for garnish

Directions:  Build cocktail in order over ice in a highball glass, allowing the grenadine to slowly sink through the cocktail. Garnish with an orange wedge and cherry.

1.5 oz Bushmills Original Irish Whiskey

1 squeeze fresh lime juice

2 oz. ginger ale

1 wheel lime

Combine Bushmills Original Irish Whiskey and lime juice over ice in a tall glass. Top with ginger ale and garnish with lime wheel

1.5 oz Bushmills Original Irish Whiskey

3 oz. ginger ale

1 twist orange

Pour Bushmills Original Irish Whiskey and ginger ale over ice cubes into a tall glass.

INGREDIENTS
2 Parts Basil Hayden’s Bourbon®
½ Part Green Chartreuse
½ Part Lemon Juice
½ Part Grapefruit Juice
½ Part Agave Syrup* (To make, combine equal parts of water with Agave Syrup)
¼ Part Egg White

PREPARATION

Combine all ingredients in a mixing tin and shake without ice to blend.

Add ice and shake.

Strain over fresh ice in a double rocks glass and garnish with a mint sprig and a lemon wheel

Basil Hayden’s Sookie’s Virtue

Inspired by HBO’s True Blood

1½ parts Basil Hayden’s Bourbon

8 Red Grapes

2 Raspberries

¾ parts Lemon Juice

¾ parts Floral Tea Syrup (see recipe below)

Floral Tea Syrup

1. Combine 1 part of your favorite freshly brewed floral tea (jasmine, lavender, chamomile, etc.)

with 1 part sugar.

2. Stir until sugar is completely dissolved and refrigerate.

 

1. Muddle red grapes, raspberries, lemon juice and floral tea syrup in a mixing tin.

2. Add Basil Hayden’s Bourbon and shake vigorously for 7 seconds.

3. Strain into a martini glass and garnish with a grape and raspberry.

1½ parts Basil Hayden’s Bourbon

¾ parts Fresh Lime Juice

1 Slice Jalapeno

1 part Pomegranate Juice

½ part Simple Syrup

Splash of Soda Water

1. Muddle lime juice, jalapeno, pomegranate juice and simple syrup in a mixing tin.

2. Add Basil Hayden’s Bourbon and shake lightly for 5 seconds.

3. Strain into a Collins glass, add ice and top with soda water.

4. Garnish with a lime wheel and pomegranate seeds.

If you are planning a date this Valentine’s Day, make it perfect, right down to the cocktail.  Chambord Flavored Vodka enlisted New York City-based relationship expert Dr. Jane Greer, and her husband and partner in practice, Dr. Marc Snowman, to taste four new cocktails and provide their impressions on which cocktails are date night right.  “Chambord Flavored Vodka is the World’s Most Romantic Vodka,” said Dr. Jane. “It is perfect in so many cocktails that can add that touch of romance to any date, Valentine’s Day or
not.”

The French Martini

Dr. Jane says: “This cocktail is so smooth and scrumptious, perfect for the
couple who likes Ballroom Dancing.  I can see something very elegant – like
Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers – floating across the dance floor.”

1 1Ž2 oz. Chambord Flavored Vodka
1Ž2 oz. Chambord Liqueur
2 oz. Pineapple Juice

Shake ingredients with ice and strain into a martini glass.  Garnish with
raspberries.

The Parisian Cosmo

“I love this drink so much. It’s light and refreshing and I can definitely
see it in a pitcher or by the beach.  Think Group Date Activity if you enjoy
this cocktail,” Greer said.  Marc Snowman added: “If you are having a
Cupid’s Cocktail Party, this drink is a winner.”

1Ž2 oz. Chambord Flavored Vodka
2 oz. Cranberry Juice
1Ž2 oz. Sour Mix

Shake with ice and strain into a chilled martini glass.  Garnish with a
lemon twist.

The Hennessy Cognac Sazerac Cocktail

Hennessy Cognac Sazerac Cocktail 225x300 The Hennessy Cognac Sazerac CocktailDid you know that one of the oldest known drinks, The Sazerac, originally called for cognac?  According to Hennessy, Cognac started the Sazerac and here is their take on the classic cocktail and Hennessy makes one of the best Sazeracs around.  Muddle ½ oz. simple syrup, 3 dashes of bitters, 1½ oz. Hennessy V.S and ice in a glass. Remove the ice and in a chilled glass pour a small amount of absinthe over the ice. Discard the liquid, and add the flavored ice to the whiskey. Stir and serve!

A collection of over 40 eaux de vie, the Hennessy VS is made from a recipe that has been around for 145 years.  It’s a classic Cognac.  The Hennessy VS is aged at least 2 years, the VSOP is aged at least 4 years and the XO is aged at least 6 years.

A subdural hematoma is a collection of blood on the surface of the brain, much like what is happening to you right now as you read this amazing article.  In this case, it’s the name of our latest and greatest original cocktail and the must have drink while watching Boardwalk Empire.  That’s right, if you want to be a real gangster, and not some TV watching little bitch, ya gotta get down with the Subdural Hematoma Cocktail.  After all, it was created by a gangster and brought to you by a gangster.  Yup, gangster little Jewish kids from the suburbs just created your new favorite drink for the best show on television.

 

1.5 parts Crown Royal Reserve Canadian Whisky

1 Glass Skull Glass

1 Cherry

 

That’s it!  Genius!  During prohibition, Canadian Whisky was the most consumed spirit, smuggled over the border from Canada.  One more thing, drink your whisky straight like a man, you’re a gangster now.
